These terms govern your use of CareerReady Pro, a service for creating resumes and cover letters, operated by [to be provided: legal name of the operator]. Please read them carefully.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using CareerReady Pro, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Your account and its security
You need an account to save documents and make purchases. Please give an email address you can access, keep your password private, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has used your account.
Sign-in is provided by Clerk. You are responsible for activity under your account, except where it results from a security failure on our side or our providers' side.
3. The service
CareerReady Pro lets you build resumes with a guided builder and a choice of templates, write cover letters, have an uploaded resume reviewed, and download finished documents as PDF or Word files, in English or French.
CareerReady Pro is a writing tool. We do not guarantee any interview, job offer or result with an employer or applicant tracking system.
4. AI-generated content and your responsibility to review it
Some features use artificial intelligence to suggest or rewrite text. The AI is instructed to use only the information you provide and not to invent experience, qualifications, certifications or skills, but it can still make mistakes.
You are responsible for reviewing every document before you use it, and for making sure it is accurate, truthful and yours to submit. Please do not include information you know to be false.
5. Free features and paid downloads
Creating an account, building and editing resumes and cover letters, using AI features and previewing documents are free (AI features have a daily usage limit). There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.
You pay a one-time price only when you want to download a finished document. The price depends on the tier of the template, and is always shown before you pay:
- Resume with a Basic template: $4.99 CAD.
- Resume with a Professional template: $9.99 CAD.
- Cover letter: $2.99 CAD (Basic) or $4.99 CAD (Professional).
Applicable taxes are calculated and added at checkout. Each purchase includes 3 successful downloads of that specific document, in PDF or Word. Editing after purchase is free and does not reset the counter. After 3 downloads, or if you want a new allowance for an updated version, you can buy again. A Professional purchase also covers Basic templates; switching a document to a Professional template requires the Professional price.
We may change prices for future purchases. Price changes never affect purchases you have already made.
6. Payments, receipts, refunds and your consumer rights
Payments are processed by Stripe through its secure checkout. Checkout uses Stripe Managed Payments, under which Stripe acts as the merchant of record for your purchase and its own terms also apply to the payment. Stripe sends a payment receipt, and we also email a receipt and make one available in your dashboard (Purchases tab).
Refunds: you can ask for a refund within 14 days of your purchase as long as you have not downloaded the document yet. Email support.careerreadypro@gmail.com with your order number. Refunds go back to your original payment method.
If a paid download fails or the file is defective, contact us and we will help fix the problem.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws that apply to you, including the laws of your province or territory. If those laws give you more rights than these terms, those laws apply.
7. Your content, our service and permitted use
You keep ownership of the information and text you put into CareerReady Pro. You allow us to store and process it only as needed to provide the service to you, including sending it to our AI provider when you use AI features.
Documents you create and download are yours to use for your own job applications and career purposes, including sending them to employers, recruiters and job sites, and printing them.
The CareerReady Pro website, software, brand and template designs belong to us. You may not copy, resell or redistribute the templates or the service itself, separate from your own documents.
8. Acceptable use
When using CareerReady Pro, please do not:
- create documents that impersonate someone else or use another person's information without permission;
- use the service for anything illegal, fraudulent, harassing or discriminatory;
- upload malicious files or try to break, overload or get around the security, usage limits or payment system of the service;
- use automated tools to access the service or extract its content, or resell access to it.
9. Service availability and limitations
We work to keep CareerReady Pro available and your documents safe, but the service may sometimes be interrupted for maintenance, updates or problems with us or our providers (hosting, AI, sign-in, payments or email). Features may change over time.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost job opportunities, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
10. Suspension and termination
You can stop using CareerReady Pro and delete your account at any time from your dashboard.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where required by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first. If we close your account without a valid reason, we will refund purchases you have not used.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. For important changes, we will notify account holders by email or with a notice on the website before the changes take effect. Changes do not apply to purchases already made.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [to be provided: province or territory] and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not take away the protection of the consumer laws of the province where you live.
